Hey,

There's a place in Long Island city(queens very close ot manhattan) that I got it, and they usually have it in stock.I don't remember the name, but I'll see a friend tommorow who I sent there and maybe he'll remember.I think I just went to Owens-corning website and then to dealer locator and found them.I'll post the name and # if my friend remembers. They had it by another name(Johns-Mansville?) but it's the xact same product as far as I know.

IDC is the name of the company, they have an office in Long Island City, I can dig up the number if you can't find it. I think they might have a warehouse in New Jersey, but I'm not sure which town. They sell Knauf insulation board, the 3lb density is the same as 703, the 5lb density is the same as 705

Thanks!

I purchased mine from SPI in Elizabeth NJ.

I don't know how much you need, so there may be a min. order. I think I ordered enough to build a new home.

I think that's a pretty good price, especially if you need less than a truck load.

Cotton?

I am interested in the 4" Acoustic Cotton. Does this work as well as Mineral Wool? I am concerned that there is some really bad breathing/asthma/sickness repurcusions from using the Mineral Wool covered in 'breathable' fabric.
I mean, nobody seems to know really what the drawbacks could be.
Ethan, I love the look of your products. I mean, I know you can say exactly what is inside them, but
is it insulation? I would like to avoid it if possible. THANKS!

I am in Long Island City. J&S is usually the cheapest. There is also a place called General Insulation that is very cheap. Both should stock enough for you but between the two you will definitely be covered. I doubt that you will find it any cheaper than these guys.....we have tried!

Tele,

All "porous" absorbers are based on some sort of insulation. But good ones like ours keep the material sealed well to avoid any fibers escaping.

The stuff will not kill you, but you will wish you where dead..
All kidding aside you really want to make sure you where a hat, gloves, long shirt, long pants, and mask when building bass traps.. After finishing take a good cold shower also..

I thought it might be helpful for folks to know about another place. They're very cool and they deliver for $10!!!!

I got Knauf 2" 3lb non-faced (just as good 703 in every respect - I investigated) for $.69 a sq/ft from Insulation Supply Inc in the Bronx. Like I said, very helpful and cool over the phone, it was in stock and they delivered it to Jersey for $10. 718-893-9600.

And no, I don't work for them. - Word
