Eventide Delays

We've got a few Eventide delays gathering fungus round here and i wondered if it would be worth powering them up.......

they've got 1 input and 4 outputs, each output with it's own delay time.........strikes me you could do some funky things with 'em...

.......anyone got any mileage outa them?...any tips?

Wow. There is a picture from the past. We used those in the early 80s to create the "4 walls" of a room for electric guitar tracks (i.e. ACCEPT's "Balls To The Wall"). I think they were originally intended for speaker delay in live concerts.

heck, if you sell 'em at the right price, I might be interested in a couple of those.

cheers MW.........they're not mine to sell.........what do you think they're worth?........whatever you say i'll double it (to give them their European value )

could they also be used to distribute a signal (kick in, 4 kicks out.....all delays set to 0ms) or do they degrade the sound too much?.....or in a good way?.......

(i know i know, i should just check 'em out, but it's Sunday night and i'm bored!)

Whoo-hoo!! A JJ193!!! I have one, absolutely love the ****er!!

It was indeed one of the very early 'delay tower' delays... 1 in, 4 FX outs... and it sounds really unique. The only sorta limitation is that the 'dip switches' are fixed delay times so you can sometimes get kinda close to a timed delay but you really can't get it "right". They are indeed very cool for getting shit to bounce around... I could see [hear?] some absolutely stellar shit in 5.1 using those.

However, for any professional user, you must modify the face plate. Where is says:

Eventide Digital Delay

You must take a 'Sharpie' and make it:

Even i Dig a lay

If you don't do this modification, anyone who knows what those units are will think you're a punque bitch who just gradiated Full Pail.

Best of luck with it... don't sell them [unless it's to me]!!!

LOL (Fletcher)

Powered one of these baby's up..........wow, this is quite a cool little box!..........bringing up the 4 delays onto their own tracks and then panning/eq'ing them is great..........hand's on.........**** plugin's in the ear, this is tactile.........one strange thing, though.........there seems to be some sort of built in gate on the delay channels......it's very clear and it's on every channel........either a gate, or some sort of expander......can't really tell which.....but it certainly changes the dynamics of the source.....i was thinking of using these to mult kicks and snares, but i'm not sure how this'll work with this gate thing......actually it makes a kick quite punchy so it could be useful.......
