The MkII is built around a different tube, it's now a 6N1P dual triode where my MkI is a 6072. The MkI was multi pattern only. Cardioid was just a spot on the knob just like any other pattern.

I can't speak to sound differences as I have only used a MkI.

Absolutely love it!

I've not worked with a lot of other high end mics but some of my clients have and I've never heard anything but good comments from them.

I sent it back to Lawson not long after I got it to have it checked out and the comunication you hear about is spot on. Gene is happy to talk to you and answer any question you have. Good People!
