Thread Starter | Apogee Rosetta 200 A/D vrs Tascam DA-78HR
Here is the test and my unexpeded results. First the signal path: Alesis Masterlink Analog Out > Rosetta 200 > Yamaha 01V96 SPDIF in > ADAT direct out to RME Hammerfall HDSP 96/52 audio card into Cubase SX2.2.039 Alesis Masterlink Analog Out > Tascam DA-HR > Yamaha 01V96 TIDF in > ADAT direct out to RME Hammerfall HDSP 96/52 audio card into Cubase SX2.2.039 Both were clocked with a Apogee Big Ben. Both recoreded at 44.1/ 24bit. I recorded one stereo track for each test of a CD. No processing. I lined up the wave forms and A/B'ed the results. I really could not tell the difference on playback. If there was a difference it just was too small to measure. My playback monitors are Event ASP8's and I use the conveters in the Yamaha 01V96 mixer to send the single to the monitors. This really supprised me. I really was expecting to hear some difference between the Apogee and the Tascam. Don't know what is going on here at all. Maybe the Tascam has better conveters than I thought or they are improved so much by the Big Ben. Just thought I post this. -Gary |

Hey Gary, Did you ever just try the 01v96 converters and if so, what were the results? |
