i suggest making this video series a sticky right at the top of the Rap forum and every rapper or beat maker should have to watch it before posting, even if that requires toothpicks and arm and leg straps...

much respect to dave pensado for sure. however, the first 8 mins of this video are a complete waste of time. also, the editing is horrendous.

I enjoyed it - however, I felt the product pitch part was a bit longer than necessary. I'd prefer to hear more of what he's doing or how he's a approaching using those products, or just parts of the mix in general.
That being said, I enjoyed the show, and I look forward to the next!

We will definitely make the "Into the Lair" segment a little more in depth in the forthcoming episodes. We started broad and will get more specific as we go forward. Thanks for watching everyone, I really want to make this show the best it can be with all your input. Thanks!
Will

Nice up, those drums Pensado speaks about in the Linkin Park song are the chopped up drums from the Portishead Third album song "Magic Doors". The cowbell is part of it and just chopped up into pieces. Dope! Been wanting to jack them..

Especially when he's already given me (and everyone) a boatload of free tips over the years---way before this show was even thought of.
Just me tho...

Well maybe thats just you, maybe you didn't watch the show, but I see where SV is coming from and thats not in a bad way at all.
I like the show I don't have any complaints because... there's actually a show like this? yussss. But I want to get a look into (albeit a flash in the pan) the thought process of grammy award winning skills.
No problem with pitches either.. just keep the balance.
Thats neither a complaint nor feedback...just personal preference. I'll personally be watching either way.

Definitely watched the whole show Dayl--I guess my point is, because of the huge improvement Dave Pensado has made in my mixing (thru interviews, plug-in screenshots, his own mixes), I'd watch whatever he decided to include in his show without issue.
I understand the desire for balance but how many top mixers have taken time out to do anything like this in addition to all he has given us already? Maybe he'll adjust the pitch time--it was only the first show. No matter to me tho, like you, I'm watching.

He has always been extremely helpful with tips and his processes. Many top pro engineers are not willing to share their tips and years of research and trials with others so freely. I will read and watch any and everything with DP. Thanks for sharing!!
