Thread Starter | ECC83 is to 12AX7, as EF806 is to.... ?
Greetings. Doing some tube research, and have as yet been unable to find any other references to EF804 and EF806 tubes. In other words, like the ECC83 is the same as or replaceable by the 12AX7; ECC82 = 12AU7, etc. Or is it that there is no equivalent replacment for the EF804/EF806? I apologise in advance if this is a bonehead question. Thanks for any help and illumination. Best regards, -kk |

I did a Goggle search and found plenty of info. Try this website: http://www.tab-funkenwerk.com/Tubes%20and%20use.html At the bottom of the page regarding EF804s they talk about replacements and equivelents. They say that there is an American equivelent (5879) as well as a British (Mullard) but using either requires a pin change. Good luck! Have you tried Antique Tube Supply in Arizona? Danny Brown |

Hi dbbubba, Thanks! No, I was reading Brent Jesse's page, and also looked at the Eurotubes page. Thanks and regards, -kk |

Do you need a pair of EF804s? I scrounged around and found two from a tube EMT plate. I also have another larger tube, but the lettering is rubbed off. There is a smaller tube that has no lettering visable at all. They were all in the tube amp for an EMT reverb plate. The tall one might say "E80cc" It does say "Made in Holland." The short one only has the Telefunken logo visable. Someone who knew these tubes would know what it is. Danny Brown |
