Aeron Chair users....saggy seat?

I've been using a very good Aeron replica for a couple of years, but the seat done got baggy and saggy on me

does the mesh in the real Aeron seats hold it's tautness/firmness well? I'm thinking about plunging for the real deal, but don't want to end up with the same situation in a couple of years. I'm thinking about the "B" model as I'm about 5'11" 185 lbs.

No sag ------------ sag's a real drag.

3 years, and 4 years

Almost couldn't bring myself to spend that
much on a chair. (Saw other gear off in distance).

But a end of first 14 hour day I had forgotten all about
the chair. (That was great, it means if was so comfortable
that I had forgotten I was sitting all day).

Sagless here too... Heck, they're parts replacable (the seat and back) even if it did sag 20 years from now.

And Kyle -- it's well worth the money. Take it from a guy with 2 herniated discs that sits in one all day. I LOVE mine.

No sag here, either. Was just at a buddy's studio last night and commented on how his 6+ year old aeron looked like new - they build them to last forever...

well mine didn't last forever. mine lasted a few months. the seat itself is still great, but the mechanisms underneath that hold it all together have totally blown out. it's wobbly, bearings spill on the floor, snap rings snapped off, it will spontaneously tilt back. i'm pissed. i have an 800 dollar chair held together with duct tape now.

I was gonna say, it's more likely you'll seesag in what's put in the chair more than you will in the chair itself.

Buying a "replica' Aeron would be like buying a Chameleon mic pre and expecting it to sound like a 1073. My 8-year old Aeron is sagless despite the steadily increasing size of my keister. Just bought another one for my home edit suite, worth every penny!

No sag on the two Bs I have at home, but I freelance at a place where the 300 LB+ staff guy has crippled the mesh of a C to where my butt hits the hard plastic top of the base when I sit down.

Just in case you don't know, you can tell the size of the chair by the # of raised dots under the top back edge -- dead center, top inside.

It's one, two, or three dots -- size A, B, or C -- with B being the most common, I believe.

James has mine at the Asylum -- I've owned it since early 2001, and, except for the wack old school lumbar support (R.I.P., thanks Mr. Lugo for putting it out of its misery), it's held up exceptionally well, especially considering the 16+hour a day workload it's had to bear for the last 5 years. Heck, George Clinton's butt was once in that seat (before it went to the Asylum).

Hey, since I got my flashy new Sherman Oaks apartment, maybe I can eventually get that thing back, umm, whaddaya say, James? Or did you forget whose it was...

Get it fixed/replaced. The studio I'm at right now just got theirs (2) replaced this morning...that's right, my butt is in a BRAND NEW Aeron chair. The old one got wobbly, a few calls were made, and, BOOM -- new chair. Too cool.
