ADAM A7X or ADAM A8X

My first advice would be: Please try them both in your room!

But purely based on my personal opinion, If I had to chose without testing, I would put my money on the A7X. In the room where I tested both monitors (and others), I found the A7X to have a little less boomy low, and to me, this sounded more controlled. I also had the feeling that vocals had some more detail. But.. keep in mind, this whas a test in a shop, and results in your own studio can be very different!

Have you done acoustic treatment in your room? This is extremely important!

Unfortunately I don't have a shop around where I can take both to my studio and bring the pair back which I don't like.

I did some minimal acoustic treatment - not really good.

Since you already have Yamaha HS80 which has 8" woofer, I feel like going with A7x would be better. I'm not expert but instead of 8", 8.5" combination, I think I like 8", 7" combination better.
