LMAO... just saw that Hugh Padgham recorded Derek and Clive

Possibly the rudest, single most offensive stuff ever to have made it onto tape:

The worst/best thing a school kid could ever listen to (that was me and my mates back in the day).

Gratuitous use of the "C" word, and mad jumps in volume when Dudley Moore cracks up again and again, and when Cook and Moore verbally lay into eachother, completely off their trolleys on beer and weed (poor microphones!)

I'm so sad, I actually loaded the album into Logic and went through every track and increased the volume of any quiet sniggering and giggling in the background (Dudley Moore... so infectious). And VOLIA I have a "re-mastered" classic "Derek and Clive Come Again"

Oh happy times!

Over to Hugh: "Did you record it at 15 ips? What mics did you use? did you use an 1176 or an LA2A?" Did you use a Neve?

That is some seriously funny sh*t! two brilliant comics drunk at a party riffing for their pals is a great formula. Sorta like Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner's 200 year old man. Except MUCH ruder.

I have the video and you hear Peter saying, "Are we rolling, Hugh?" The mics were a couple of 47 FETs, at least on the sessions in the film. Dudley places French figs on his and farts into it at some point. "hold it a moment..."

Derek & Clive changed my life at the age of 25.

From HAVING A WANK:

"Frankly I was going slightly beserk; jerking all round the room, pulling down all of the furniture and fittings, grabbing hold of the carpet, being sick in the ashtrays... you know, a good, run-of-the-mill, Wednesday nine o'clock wank.

In comes the last person I expected: Audrey. She got back early from selling her pins. She said, 'Clive! What are you doing?!' So I said, 'Audrey... Love... I am acting under instructions. There are 14 members of the Russian secret police positioned around the room, disguised as wallpaper, with guns pointing at my head. And they have ordered me to finger my private parts, continuously, for the next hour, otherwise they'll shoot me.'"

By the way, have any of you heard anything recently of Squatter?

What about Derek & Clive Live? That was recorded by Eddie Kramer!
