Sennheiser e 609

I've been offered a pair of the silver limited edition sennheiser e 609 for a good price. I was thinking of using them for toms and I've heard they're ok on gtr cabinets and on brass instruments. Has anyone tried these in any or all of these applications? Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I just got a pair recently but I've only had a chance to use them once. on toms and snare. very clear sharp sound. I had them going into a fatso which rounded the sound out nicely. wish I had more info for you. I'll let you know when I've had a chance to try them out more.

Also sound great on small percussion, like bongos and congas. I used one paired up with at RE-20 on a Bodran (Irish drum) a while ago and it sounded great.

Did you get the Silver or the Black series? Very different.
Look for my post in RAP under "e609 silver" and you will find a comparison. I have both.

Thanks Tee. I somehow had the feeling the answer was right under my nose.

Hey Tubedude are you going by a different name in RAP cause I did about twelve searches and found alot of useful feedback on the e609 but I couldn't find your handle anywhere?
