Do you like to read? I need someone to check for typos and grammar mistakes....

...on an ebook I wrote.

English is not my mother tongue so I need to have this checked.

it's a short book (60 pages or so) on a PDF format.

It's about relationship and helping men keep their women and save their relationships.

I have a website which you can check out if you want, but I'm interested in getting the book checked for typos and such, more than anything.

The profession is called "proof reading", and people normally charge for this.

Are you going to sell this ebook for profit?

Is it religious, or does it push a particular philosophy?

What are your credentials in this field?

If you get a free job done, it may only be worth what you pay for it ...

Do you have access Microsoft Word? That can automatically check and correct spelling and grammar mistakes. But since English isn't your first language, you probably want to have a human proof reader.

Why choose this forum to proof read a book on relationship advice?

Sorry to ask all these questions - no need to answer them. I just think a bold request for free stuff warrants a few bold questions ...

Honestly have you seen the spelling and grammar on this site? I would recommend contacting a nearby university and getting a starving grad student to do it for you for a few Euros.

I'm doing it as my random act of kindness for the day

I'm not a professional proof reader but I got fairly decent results in English in high school and my spelling and grammar is correct 90% of the time.

wow, didn't know this would bring so many questions.

I asked this as a favor, didn't know it would be such a huge thing, I have done it more than 4 times as a favor for people that wanted to get things translated (long texts) to Spanish which is my first language, and I've never charged.

Not because I think I'm a poor translator, but simply because I don't think translating or "proofing" a not so large document is something that required too much.

I don't want to put down anyone that does this for a living, not at all........I guess I'm a kind person that'd do almost anyone a favor.

Why did I came here? simply because this and Rig-Talk (I asked for help there too) are the only two english spoken forums that I frequent.

This is also a community is it not? As he has now explained his position it would seem that it's not a hugely unreasonable request and maybe even a worthwhile topic. Those who think it's an unreasonable request could always just refrain from posting rather than assuming positions of "ethics" highway patrolmen.

No offence is intended to anyone posting. Have a Happy and Warm Christmas.
