JBL markets it as a means to help correct certain room anomolies but in reality it can be used (along with the included sine sweep disc and measurement mic) to help tune your room.

It helped me place my 6328's in the best location for this room along with my bass traps.

Very useful for me.

EQ is the fix of last resort, seems to me, for room issues. Standing bass and reflection issues can't really be fixed by jacking around the EQ. (Yeah, yeah, you can try to EQ for the precise sweet spot... maybe you'll have to hang a practice golf ball in front of said sweet spot to bump your forehead against so you know you're there... like some folks have in their garages to keep from going through the back wall. It still won't fix phase issues induced by short reflections, such as from the side. And, in fact, trying to even up the freq response in such situations might introduce even more problems.)

I've enjoyed listening to some JBL speakers over the years. I grew up as a kid lusting over the big freezer-size JBL's that never seemed to leave my local hi fi shop's showroom floor. But I've never, ever enjoyed mixing on JBL's.

I would have to say that I'm more than skeptical.
