SSL X-Rack: Console yourself

Not Surprisingly SSL have expanded the X rack with the addition of Mic pre and eq modules. The idea is that you could build up a console over time.

I think this is quite a good idea as modularity always allows the user to get exactly what they need rather than half and half.

Also that rather nice plug in LC1 is now available fro PC!

I guess it's likely to see a summing box in the near future to....and a control room module for the XLogic setup......

....just like API, ADT-Audio, Chandler, etc...

Well it's strange that they didn't release the summing box, you have the preamps, the EQ, the dynamics but no summing ?

A little bird told me $20,000. I was hoping for about half of that. Still I'd love to have a rack of eight compressors, eight eq's in my slutty little world.

Look, this is what someone told me, I don't work for SSL so obviously I have no idea if it's true or not. I'd be willing to pay 8 or 9k for a rack like this but there is no way I could swing 20k for eight channels so I'm hoping that the guy who told me 20k is wrong. The reason I posted what was said at all, is I was hoping that somebody would step up to the plate with encouraging (but accurate) information. So if you know something man, speak up..............please

I guess a full rack can be had for less than $10k.

Mind you, this is just speculation.

The empty rack is a bit over £1,000. So there you go. A full rack should be around $8,500.

US prices $850/module and $2500 for the rackmount case which has TR. No multipiers on the EQ's though which I thought was an odd design decision... but the AWS900 doesn't have the multipliers either.

Change the frequency of the EQ band.. 400 Hz - press in the multiplier button and it's 3x... 1.2 kHz
