| Lives for gear | 3 New Roland Keyboards + groovebox
Roland has announced some new products to coincide with NAMM: SH-201 analog-modelling synth VP-550 vocal modelling synth Juno-G entry-level ROMpler MC-808 groovebox (with motorized faders) You can find them listed on this page: http://www.rolandus.com/products/pro...px?ParentId=72 The VP-550 looks the most interesting to me. |

Ditto that. vp550 looks most interesting. sh201 is the worst looking keyboard design ive ever seen.Juno G looks very cheap as well and i hate the fact the juno name is now associated with sample playback.

I'm surprised to find myself interested in the MC-808. Plenty of nice options for hooking up to my DAW and doing some editing but looks very versatile for live performance or sketching out ideas. I'd looked at the 909 before and while it's favored by a lot of folks, it looks like the Barbie Jeep of samplers/sequencers. Er.. unless i'm the only one who thinks things like a "turntable emulation" slider is completely, horrendously lame? (please say i'm not. oh pleasepleaseplease.) A couple decent ideas aside, Roland and Yamaha have been particularly disappointing, imo. PCM garbage all over the place. |
