bad bad mushroom...

I was just given a credit card by a music retailer to remain nameless. Owing to the fact that I haven't purchased any new gear in a few months, I decided to make use and purchase a Fender Cyber Deluxe and a Nashville Tele (MIM)...But it doesn't get here for a week! Grrrrrrr....Want new stuff....Grrrrr....

grudge

Anyway, anybody have any experience with the Cyber Deluxe? I tried out a Cyber Twin, which was a ****ing beast, at a diff. store, however decided against going into bankruptcy to purchase it, and thus went for it's slighly less slutty sister...Anyone know anything about how it performs in terms of reliability/long term usage?

You call yourself a Gearslut?

Iwill completely ignore the Religious issue of an amp with digital emulation instead of using tube amps for the real"thing".

The real issue here is that by buying a digital emulation amp, you are saying that you don't need to run out and buy every flavor of tube amp ever made. And that my friend runs competely counter to the Gearslut ethic.

Are you a Gearslut or not?

Is your sluttiness merely an affectation that you take on for this internet forum?

If the Cyber thing is to save your back for live gigging, Jules may choose to issue you a Gearslutz exemption, but if the Cyber amp is intended to cover lots of bases for recording, you may not be a Gearslut after all.

And if that is the case, will you be able to live with yourself?

Food for thought.

Yeah modelling stuff is anti-slut. Get a real deluxe that at least does one thing really well as opposed to kind of doing alot of stuff.

Sure no problem!

It really is too bad about the Cyber twin. I really love fender amps and I wanted to like it. Couldn't do it. Very dissapointing.

when it does what you want ... cool ...

i was trying the line 6 stuff and after a week or so ,
i switched back to my marshall fender vox amps .
to be honest , the line 6 is a cool toy for doing something fast .

if you want the real deal ...

i have no idea bout the cyber . if you like it , thats the most important thing .

I am a slut. Trust me! I spend more money on gear than anything else in life. I have a ton of amps..... AC30, Twin, Bassman, JCM 900, some vintage tweeds. Quite a bit of variety to say the least. The Cyber Twin impressed me. FOR ALL THOSE WHO SAY IT IS A MODELING AMP>>>>>IT IS NOT!!! It changes circuitry patterns to become a similar foundation becoming a amp. tutt I have used it in studio applications and on gigs and have been pleasantly surprised. I am not sure about the Cyber Thin statement..... I find it as full as the rest of my combos. The DSP element is alright. I would not consider it ground braking but I will consider it well above average. good reverbs, delays etc. You really have to dig into the amp to bring out the beast. I would shoot for it. If you like it.... jump. I am an analogue guy at heart but you know what...... I can learn to change. diddlydo

SO GO GET IT>>>>CRANK IT UP>>> and play some tunes!

PS.... It has been very reliable!

Good luck!

I had a Cyber Deluxe on a remote gig I did this past weekend. Everyone who used it got a great tone out of it. I was actually quite surprised at how good it sounded. By far the best modelling amp (if that is truly what it is) I have heard to date. Long term reliability is a definite thorn in the side, but that's true of anything with a complicated circuit board and CPU inside.

I had been told that the Cyber Twin was like an analog board with automation. The sales guy said the controls were motorized and there was a processor that controlled the operation of the pots and the DSP for effects.

I spent about a half hour with the Cyber Twin didn't get any sounds out of it that I liked. With a normal Fender amp, if I can't make it scream in about 30 seconds, something is broken! None the less, if you were able to conquer the amps controls and get good sounds out of it, good for you!

I'll have to give the deluxe a shot. It would be nice to have an amp that really delivered with effects and good Fender Deluxe tone. Hopefully my first experience with that thing was an abberation.

Yeah, I know modeling amps aren't exactly slutty as slut gets, but then again, sometimes the good girls are the biggest freaks, eh? Yar, this amp is intended for a multi-use recording/gigging/irritating the neighbors general all purpose type thing, primarily budget motivated - wanted something versatile that wasn't going to require a bunch of stomp boxes/outboard effects to get the basics, so to speak.

And while I'd love to have the funds to buy 15 different quality vintage amps, my fundage for gear-prostitution is severly limited for such an undertaking. Thus the cyber deluxe. Glad to know some people out there like it. I'll let you all know how well it stands up to my fooling around with it, and whether the mexi-tele will make it scream or not. From my albeit breif in store comparison, it's bigger brother the Cyber Twin out screamed every other amp I tried (assortment of various tube Marshalls, Fenders, etc.)
