The Liquid Channel

Im not interested in buying one i was just reading an ad and it kind of creeps me out... a bit like when you hear the Line6 variax acoustic.. just not quite right!

Are there any users out there? what are your experiences / opinions?

also line 6 have just released a pre with "dsp" so it makes it sound "neve-esque" or "API-esque" anyone heard anything about them?

cheers

...which I think is so funny because sounding "Neve-esque" or "API-esque" doesn't seem to have much to do with dsp.

I may say something that starts the flames a burning,
(Make it medium-rare please), but
I got a liquid channel about 5 months ago:

(I wanted to know where dynamic convolution is at this point
in time. I believe that this field will deliver some
new in interesting things in the next 5 years).

I have several of the items it tries to “emulate”.
Does it? Not to my ears.

Is it “usable” yes.

I would “try” it:
1. In a home studio with limited cash.
2. if just starting and wanted to try some “different” things.
3. Had a need to “carry it around”.

Final comment:

You must listen to this it is not a “safe” bet:
Like APIs, Great River, Neve, GML, etc etc.

If you’re in love with one of the pieces it “emulates”
buy the real thing.

This is really my experience to date.

agreed

i agree,

i have had the misfortune of using one of these. i personally think that some "cheap" preamps sound better and have more charachter. it doesn't come close to emulating anything it says it does. it's poopy dfegad
