What's up with the black MD441?

I've seen a couple of these on Ebay recently and was wondering if the difference is *only* cosmetic or not.

Anyone know anything about these mics?

I know Sennheiser sold some MD441's in the mid-1980's that were all black but otherwise 100% identical to the more common Black&Silver mics. (I worked for a pro audio dealer during this time period so I saw quite a few of these.)

I vaguely remember hearing about a 441 variant that did *not* have the rotary hipass filter switch; not sure if this had a different model number, or whether it was also available in all-black. Confirm the existance of this switch to make sure you're getting a "real" MD441...though, if the price is right, a 441 without the filter is still a damn good mic.

I've got one too and from what I recall (it's been a while since I've used a silver one), it's pretty much the same. There's no rotary switch around the base of the mic, but it does have the hi-boost/low-cut switch.
