Sample rate of audio on DVDs?

I thought I knew this one. Is it 48k 24 bit?

This is for a regular video DVD.

Thanks.

Yes, it is 24-bit 48kHz, but of course, it is bit-rate reduced.

The degree of AC3 or DTS data compression will almost always be decided by non-audio people, even on music DVD's, to allocate more of the 'bit-budget' to video coding, so make sure you fight for as much audio quality as you can get!
