snap, crackle and pop

Hey guys! I just got my new EL-7 fatso yesterday and could not wait to get it set up and going. I noticed something that concerned me though. I realise that if you push this thing to hard it will distort, but I am getting serious snap, crackle and pop on transients in bypass mode. Why would it distort in bypass?

Ill bump for ya as I have never used on. Try calling E.L. number should be in the manual. Or try Disco D in the hip hop section, he cant stop raving about it.

I used to have one and seem to remember that it would get crunchy if the output gain is set to high. But that shouldn't matter in bypass, should it?
