The proper way to power up a Proco Rat2?

Hello: I've recently acquired an old 1992 Rat2 pedal made in USA.
The only powering specification that I have is at the back of the pedal which it says: +9V

I've also noticed that this input is smaller than many others (see pic below). Anyhow, here are my questions:

1. How do we call specifically to this kind of small inputs?
2. What's the '+' stand for? Is the tip negative or I'll assume that is just a positive one?
3. How much mA this pedal is actually demanding?

I'm asking this here because I can't find any information neither in the official website (also there are some many reissues over time that was difficult to me to be sure)

Thanks in advance.

I recommend you checkout the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2.

It's a fairly standard 3.5mm (1/8") plug (like a headphone mini plug). The + just means it's normal. In electronics, some circuits need +/- powering, this does not. At least a few companies sell adapters for their power supplies that fit this jack. The Voodoo Lab PedalPower II is one and The Visual Sound 1 Spot is another. Visual Sound sells a combo pack includes 2 of these as well as a few other adapters and cable to hook up several pedals to one 1 Spot.

I have a few rat's in a range of working/not working condition. I don't use them that often so I just throw a battery in them when I do. For studio use, using batteries is a good way to mitigate ground loops and noise from bad power in some pedals and some pedals (not just fuzz pedals) are sensitive to voltage amounts so using different methods of powering may affect the sound.

I use a psu that I got from GC for pretty cheap. It's some generic brand, and not a 1spot. I don't know if back in 1992 the unit was different, but mine works fine with this psu.
