Oh, yeah!

When tracking so many instruments live (& vocals, too), they can be just the thing on piano.

Even though its a cardioid mic, there is virtually no proximity effect or off-axis coloration.

It plays much nicer with all those other open mics.

Great find! I always thought they used a condenser on Bob's vocal on Planet Waves. Really thick sound. Anyway, underrated album with some great tunes...

great article, thanks for posting.

I really enjoy the sound of a 421 on vocals when going for rejection but the pops can get troublesome, sometimes even with a filter and the roll off set to 'V'.

live in the room together--sounds like a record!
