Looking into LED lights for the studio

I'm looking to replace my incandescents with some LEDs. I have recessed lighting right now and would like to keep them. I did a little research and this bulb looks pretty good! 13 watts, 900 lumens, but a bit pricey at $50 a bulb.

LEDbulb.com - LED Bulbs, LED Lamps, LED PAR and LED MR16 bulbs.

Anyone have any other recommendations? I'm looking for a screw in base, not looking to redo my recessed cans.

Also.. do LEDs induce noise like incandescents? I know they run cooler, but just wondering about the noise thing.

I recently did this but replaced all my six halogen GU10 bulbs with their LED equivalents. Benefit: no heat produced. I have enough heat coming from all the gear... Drawbacks: the place looks really cold now. The colour of the light isn't quite right, it just looks a bit sterile in here at the moment. Plus the LED bulbs just don't seem to be as bright as normal ones (unless you spend silly money). Worth it though, although i suppose its about weighing up the temperature of the room (in a thermal sense vs in a colour sense)

Thanks for your input odavy,

When you mention that LEDs look cold and sterile, I wonder if I should go with the warm light model instead of the cool light model. And boy are they expensive... I'm going to start with 2 perhaps and then if I like them, replace the remaining 6 recessed cans I have.

Also, my cans are wired with dimming sliders. Can anyone provide any insights on that? Should I get dimmable LED bulbs? I need to if I want to dim right?
