iphone OS4.1 update failed.. now what?

3GS, 4.0.1, backup from my phone (via itunes) available.

tried to upgrade to 4.1, after having the white "stripe" crossing 3/4 on the black screen with the apple logo, itunes returns an 29, unable to upgrade.
phone remains in recovery mode.

tried to change itunes version, laptop (use another one), other usb port, switch off iphone, on/dfu mode..

I tried to use firmwareumbrella, and could use the txt console, device regonized, but I can not perform FW upgrades...

nothing.

the only solution seems to be: find someone with a mac and reset it to factory specs.

ideas welcome.

ok.. solved.

for all future iphone updaters who have problems:
you need a mac.

the only thing I did was, I hooked my iphone to a mac mini with the latest iphone, let the mac recognize the iphone and that's it. the phone get's out of his dfu status and is resetted.. without even "upgrade" or uplaod something to the phone. just by pluggin it in to a mac.

I read this on several forums, but didn't believe it.
