Thread Starter | Signal path when tracking with external A/D
My current setup is: mic - external pre - external comp - A/D @ O2R console - bus to recorder - monitor recorder return on O2R. While this setup does have some delay, it has never been enough to cause talent to complain about it or affect performance. Now when I substitute an Apogee external A/D using this same flow - the delay is totally unacceptable. So how do you route signals when tracking with an externall A/D??? Also, just wondering if the longer delay times in general might be a traight of better conversion? I mean hell - if you don't need the conversion in real time and a processor could work on the signal for a few seconds, that should translate into less errors? New to external A/D - so flog away. |
