Bloo Technologies LA2A type comp/limiter.

Anyone have or built one of the Bloo Technologies comp/limiters? For $1000 it seems like a pretty good deal and am looking at the 2ch Hand Crafted Labs Dual Levellar as well in a similar price point. HCL is 2ch and is already built but the Bloo is a 1ch DIY kit. Anyone have experience with the Bloo? Here is a link to a Prodigy thread:

Haven`t built it, but Steve (the guy who basically is Bloo technologies) is a good guy, and a stickler for details. There`s lots of info on this kit at www.groupdiy.com. Interesting stuff there on transformer choices (with the sowters being the far and away favourite).

Cheers,.

I read all that stuff before, but thanks for the link anyway. It looks really nice and the comments have been very good. I would like to actually talk to a user though.

Hey Colin,

I've emailed Steve...are you planning to buy the unit? It seems to be very interesting. FWIW I wonder if it would be better to save a little more extra $ and go for a Distressor, you can a have a more versatile compressor.

Regards,
Pupo

I never did get one. I e-mailed the guy a zillion times and never got a response so I gave up on it. I figured I could make it, but it probably would have taken me forever. I realized I can get a 2ch Hand Crafted Labs Leveller for the same price as the Bloo kit so I am going to go that route instead. Or go I will go with a UA LA3A reissue.

STEVE YOST STOLE MY $$$!!!

I ordered a Bloo LA2A kit from Steve Yost. He cashed my personal check and wrote me an email saying that the unit had shipped. Over 2 months later I have not received the kit and Steve will not respond to my emails or phone calls. Any of you who might know Steve or who have had had a good transaction with him I'd like to hear about it. Right now it sure seems like he's trying to rip me off. Maybe he's dead.

Steve and I made a trade a year or two ago that went very smoothly. Seemed like he was on the up & up.

Ask over at GroupDIY.com. They'll know how to reach him.
