Screwing around with my digital camcorder and Vegas, I made a little video tour of the studio last night. Just a little home studio so don't expect The Hit Factory! Nothing fancy. It's 360x240 30fps with 128k stereo audio so you'll probably need a broadband connection to stream it. Video Tour (streaming) For those who can't stream the file here's the direct 33mb download... Video Tour (download) Enjoy... it runs about 5 minutes. Lawrence |

Just a few suggestions 1. a tripod 2. slow motion while scanning the room 3. Way less talking (possibly none). let your text that you use at the end do the talking for you. Just move it closer to the beginning and use thru-out. 4. possibly faster pace 5. Way to long, in general and for playback on the web. I noticed you put a link for it up on your studio web page. I wanted to stop the video almost as soon as it started playing. it was very slow.... and the first shot/intro was even slower. missing all of the above are usually first time mistakes. A good idea is to look around the internet of studio video tours, even web/video tours in general. You will learn alot. IMO you shouldn't make all the comparisons to you and "pro" studios. You are only as big as you think you are. i know you may have not been looking for a critique, but you can do way better than that. Im certain of it. Peter

As I said in my original post I was "screwing around". This is not supposed to be a pro video tour. This was just a quick video for my friends on the net. I didn't plan what to say, just grabbed the camera and started filming and yaking. If I was going to do this for real I'd have a plan on how to proceed and what to include and leave out and some kind of outline. Again... just screwing around with Vegas. Don't take it too seriously. The whole thing took less than an hour.P.S. If I was to do a professionally produced tour video like this 5 min would not be too long at all, especially if I included clips of sessions and mixing to keep it interesting. It seems long now because there's nothing really going on. Thanks Lawrence | |
