A Few Pro Tools Questions? Need some advice!

Hey Gearslutz,

so more recently I've been looking to replace my Mbox 2 Mini with my Pro Tools LE with an audio interface that isn't, for lack of a better word, horrible!

I already have Logic Studio 9/Apogee Duet, but I am in Pro Tools "training" right now and I don't currently have a working Pro Tools set up anymore! (Lost my Authorization Code and yes, I have called Digi and tried to get the number but apparently it was registered to somebody who isn't me, which is impossible to me, but onto the point)

Is there an affordable audio interface that is very PTLE compatible and sounds really nice?

Also, I've looked into an Eleven Rack...love it but dont want to pay $900 for the system/interface, are there any ways that you folks get great guitar sounds in your Pro Tools set up? Please share!

Thanks,

-CeeAsh

002 or 003 should suffice

The M-audio interfaces (2626?) gets lots of love round here over the 002/3, never compared the two myself (however there's guys who'll jump in and tell you that!).

I'd reckon the best quality vs affordability LE interface right now is the new Mbox3 Mini..

If you're used to the sound quality of the Duet, you're best bet, like the other poster said, would be one of the new Avid Mboxes. They would be most likely to come the closest to the Duet sound. The 002/003 does not.

Also, you may want to wait about 3 weeks for AES just in case Avid has another surprise for us with a product announcement.

I Agree I have looked at the diagnostics and the MBOX 3 mini for quality and price is your best bet.
