Judging from that exoticaudio.org site, I'd say a bunch of old fat-bellied rich men with bad comb-overs...

I actually know one of those dudes, comb over and all. All he talks about is his stereo and how he spends 30 grand on this and 10 grand on that. And I thought being a gear slut was bad, imagine the home studios these guys could have. Maybe I should hit that dude up for a loan.

This power amp looks beautiful, and I heard you can pull the tube out while it's working.

I just quit my day job to concentrate fully on the DonPedro Design Awards.
I have been watching all manufacturers closely, waiting for something exciting to happen.

I am also accepting suggestions.

The DonPedro awards for design excellence for 2006 will be presented on October 15th. 2006

Categories are:

Design excellence - Rack Equipment
Design excellence - Mic
Design excellence - Other

Best product photography
Best manufacturer homepage
Best vendor homepage

Worst design
Worst homepage

It goes without saying that winning this prestigious award will almost certainly guarantee vastly improved sales, older whiskey and large scale sex life improvements.

Shadow Hills won the 2005 award, and they have been very busy since.

So hit me with your suggestions please, so we can all make our world a little better designed.

Thanks for making me reread this thread. DonPedro has one of the best avatars. I want to fly to Iceland, meet him, freeze my ass off and party in his studio with some curious Icelandic womenz. All based on his avatar.

Asthetics are a strange thing though..very personal, like a toothbrush.

AVALON stuff looks like a 70s Kenwood stereo. So do the knobs on my brent averill.

BAE needs some NEW KNOBS, more like A Designs. Other than that I like the battleship grey / black. A Designs has the badass knobs.

OSA needed a new look long ago. I could see them with a black plate, OSA in red letters, and a thin white and blue stripe underline. A subtle American theme kind of thing. It would be unique in 500 land, and anything is better than what they got. I'd still gladly use these fine preamps, but a big half moon of some lime aqua color --could easily stand some improvement.

But I gotta disagree on API which I think strikes the right balance of easy on the eyes black and just enough color accents to make it "special and loveable."

APOGEE probably rubs some people the wrong way, but I think the purple on silver looks inviting and passionate. Somehow it looks like it sounds.

Just another vato's opinion.
