drum loops in muendo

Hi, I have nuendo and sample tank xl, Iam trying to find a virtual drummer with pro sounding drums that have beats I could use for writing than probable change them later to the real thing. Not to knowledgable in this and don't really want a programming nightmare .I know about BFD but I'am not sure it would be more trouble with computer issues than it worth. Anything that sound great and is easy to use?

BFD is very unlikely to cause you any trouble, provided you have an adequately powerful computer. What's your system spec.?

Hi , I have a dual amd 1600mps -512ddr ram -dual drives with cadys-dual monitors -rme multiface-computer is dual rack case- nuendo 2.2-waves-sampletank xl. I don't think the ram is enough for bfd. I don't have a dvd either so I would have to purchase and external usb type.

Indeed.. you'd need a gig of RAM and a DVD drive to get the best out of BFD in Nuendo. You're not going to get anything as pro-sounding for less money and computer power, but Jamstix and Groove Agent are both worth a look.. Groove Agent is ridiculously easy to use, but sounds pretty bad on its own - however, you can use it to drive the drums in SampleTank which are a bit stronger. Jamstix is a lot more powerful, and can also drive SampleTank.. imho it's a much better product overall than Groove Agent, but it's a bit more technical, not quite as instant.

Hi again, Thanks for the info. I will definately upgrage the ram to its full potential soon. Whats the best way to run BFD ? Streem it from a dvd external usb drive in real time i guess or run it from ram ,or does it always rum from ram anyway? I f I was to do this I would do it the best way possible to optomize the system with the least amount of problems. How would you do it? Paulieg

You can't stream it from the DVD, it needs to be installed to a hard disk. You can then stream it from disk or RAM. 1GB should be fine, but you might need more to use BFD heavily in big projects.. depends what else you are running.
