Need advice on vocal micpre / chain.....

I use an Amek angela blue for tracking to PT or tape and it sounds good in most situations. Have no other outboard micpres/channels yet and I would like to have more possibilities to improve vocal sound.
Which type of other micpre / channel -strip could be a useful tool to improve vocal sound in my situation?
My mics today are U87 silver vintage, AKG 414 eb, SM7.
Maybe i need another mic too?

Thanks for any input!

This is where I come in and say the obligatory... "Get a Neve or API preamp!"

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

Seriously though.... You have three great mics. The U87, 414EB, and SM7 will cover your bases. I would like to add a tube condenser to that list(U47/67, etc), but I think a preamp would be my next purchase. May I suggest something from the Neve family of flavors... the Aurora Audio GTQ2mkIII.
