Source for Curtains

I'm looking to get a heavy black curtain... any ideas where to look for this? I need something rather small 7' X 9'

Thanks!

do a search for blackout fabric - should be able to find something in your area.

Find the nearest theatrical supply place that actually makes draperies, and see if you can buy some of their scrap. I used to get nice pieces of heavy velour in the 8"x20' range for very little.

Curtain

I had good luck with Rosebrand They have good deals in their specials section. The curtain I ordered showed up the next day, was acctually larger than I expected/ they advertised!

Duvetyne is used by grip/lighting guys a lot.

Also known as commando cloth or blackout.

Rosebrand is THE main wholesale/retail center for theatrical draperies and such.

Duvetyne and commando cloth aren't quite the same thing. Both are thinner than the real velours, and at least one of them will pass some light. If you're trying drapes for acoustic effect, the velours are denser.
