Monitors!!! I need 'em!

Hello, I need some help to pick out some decent monitors to go with my new MBOX2. Are monitors usually self powered? I am guessing the mbox2 won't have enough power, so I will need self powered ones. I am using some cheap, home use, self powered speakers right now, but need something of better quality with getting into 1000 usd mark..... it is only an mbox.....

A pair of KRK V6 or V8 would be nice, but so would a few others...you should try and shoot this stuff out somewhere if you have the chance or listen to them in your environment to make that decision.

Nowadays most monitors are active / powered yes, but not all. The MBox2 is passing a line level signal on the outputs so you require power.

i use a pair event tr-6. they are powered near-field monitors (400$ pair). the only problem i have with them is that lack of accuracy in the low end. to fix this i added a tapco sw-10 10" sub (350$). all that with auralex MoPads and a SubDude runs about 850$. a nice setup though for that cheap
