Thread Starter | Cubase Effects Sends Problem
When I set up a delay in Send 1 for example, and then send some of the lead vocal to it...it sounds kinda phasey? I had this problem with automating an autotune send. How can this be overcome? I mean, sends are so much more CPU efficient.

you cant use autotune like that... mixing the non autotuned vocal with autotuned vocal totally messes with phase. the delay... perhaps you have the mix on the delay not at 100% or you have "listen to direct signal" button on or something. You can use autotune as an insert or, apply it to the object via right clicking.

if you're trying to conserve resources with autotune, or an insert type effect (say a compressor or eq), and you have several tracks that want to "share" it, then use a "group track". this is like a buss. assign tracks to it - and use its inserts for all effects (eg autotune etc). for delays, verbs, then "sends" are the ticket. |

Thread Starter | Cool Thanks
One more thing When I set up drum buss with like a ST comp, verb, maybe eq and then route it to the Main ST output the playback is great, but when I do a mixdown of the ST track, it leaves out the Drum Buss or any other busses that I have setup to go to the Main ST Output. This really sucks because then I have to separately mix down the other busses, like the drum buss, and I usually end up doing some kind of time adjustment which adds another level of difficulty when my playback was already EXACTLY the way I wanted it to sound. The level is then all messed up too. PLEASE HELP! |

Make sure you go over to www.cubase.net and do some forum research there. It's a FABULOUS forum for getting things answered and figured out quickly. I'd also interject that your fx need to be set to 100% wet, AutoTune is used as an insert effect, and perhaps your busses aren't correctly set to stereo out. I've never had an issue with bouncing like that, and I do the same assignments as you daily.

when you export, make sure you're selecting the master stereo out in the export dialog window. also double triple check your group channels are indeed assigned to your master stereo out. ie., make sure they are not assigned to an "audition" channel, or simply to another added bus. if these all check out ... then you should be getting everything in your export/mix.
