Thread Starter | difference between Sennheiser 609 silver and 906? does anyone know if there is a difference between Sennheiser 609 silver and 906? have any of you AB 'ed them? I have 2 609 silvers and I really like them but it looks like i need to pick up 2 more and i'm wondering if the 906 is worth the additional $ is there a difference between the 602 and 902? i think that they just decided to charge more money and they are going to discontinue the 600 series. thanks! |

| Well, I don't have a definitive answer for you, but the e906 does have a 3-way filter switch on it which probably adds to the cost a bit. I have the e906, and do like it for certain things (some guitar cabs, mostly).

Sennheiser 409/609/906 audio clips I like the sound of the 906 a lot better. It is more like the vintage 409. The 609 has too much crappy high end in it. The 906's high end is rounded out a bit, and it has great mids and lows. Don't waste your money buying more 609's. Start investing in 906's, IMHO. But also, buy what you like the sound of. So maybe you won't agree with me after listening to the samples on the other thread. | |

| I had the 609 and tried using it a few times but always ended up going away from it. I got rid of it. Then one day saw a 906 on ebay that was cheap so I bid and won it. When I tried it, I had a completely different impression of it. It sounded a little smoother and a little more defined than I remembered the 609. I never A/Bed them so I couldn't testify to exactly how much different they are. But I ended up buying another one and use them on the first two toms and sometimes I'll use it on guitar cabs. I find the 3 way switch useful because some drummers tune the toms a little differently and I find it helps me compensate for some of those variables. The 906 usually costs almost twice as much as the 609 so I guess you do get what you pay for.
