Will Toft ATB work in my new project studio??

I'm setting up a new project studio. I've allowed a fair amount of budget towards studio construction/ acoustics/ mics/ instruments. I've been planning this studio for months, and finally settled on what i wanted- then i read about the Toft ATB. I believe i want this for the studio- i'm used to an analog board, like warm sounds, really like board eq's, and think that i can do stem mixes to the ATB for summing, eq's., outboard ect, w/ a sereious improvement to sound and process. But i'm not sure about the connectivity situation.

Here is some stuff i have;
1.67 ghz PWRBook running DP
Event ASP8
Tascam FW1884
Meek Twin Q (old one- no digital outputs)

Looking at getting:
Focusrite ISA428 w/dig card (allow Twin Q A/D conversion)
RNC and RNLA
Toft ATB
A/D conversion (type?)

It was easy before the Toft ATB came into the picture.

HOW DO I CONNECT THIS SETUP?
Toft has dig card option- firewire 10 in 10 out
Fw1884 has two fire ports. REAR PIC here- http://www.tascam.com/Products/FW-1884/fw1884_rear.jpg

Here's what i was thinking-
inputs- i would run the Twin Q into the ISA428, Adat out to FW1884, and 8 Toft atb pres line in to FW1884.... 16 pres firewire to pwrbook.
outputs- to 16 channel a/d to toft ????????? Toft dig card??????

Digital recording and digital connections are fairly new to me, and i cant figure it out. Would someone PLEASE illuminate me as to how i can work the ATB into my studio plans?
Options/Variations to this setup?

Please note: Tascam FW1884 was purchased w/ knowing i would eventually buy better pre's, converters, clock. It was a stragegy to allow me the ISA428, mics, acoustic treatment ect. So please dont hesitate to suggest options that would reduce the FW1884 to only a DAW controller.

thanks,
josh

You should call Toft direct and have the conversation with them, they have decided to launch a pilot program which is enabling them to sell the first 100 consoles direct to the end user so they should be prepared to deal with implementing each one.

Good call Warren. I gave them a ring, and they were happy to forward my message to Alan and Malcolm. Hopefully they can help.

I'd still appreciate any suggestions/thoughts.

I didn't know the ATB was going to have 'Firewire' capability... learn something new everyday.

FWIW I've already signed up for the 'Pilot Program' [which I believe is going to be 50 "beta bitches" not 100]... and have to say I'm way psyched about the idea [though I could really care less how the mic pre's sound]

As for the 'Firewire' thing... I'm sure we'll give it a listen... but I'm not that sure it'll come near any of the other converters in our joint [how's that for walking into a test with a shitty prejudice/attitude?].

The pilot program units are going to ship around April and Reid told me the firewire cards would be a while after that. You'd have to ask him to confirm but seems like he said it could be quite some time.

Actually it's 60 in the USA and 40 in the EU.

I think it's a good idea to work out the bugs that way also!

I also signed up for the Pilot. We`ll see...

I`m not into being a test pilot really but the board looks promising. I`m looking past the pres so...

It looks like the Digital Card will be ready with the consoles. The card is in test now.

You can see the card here Toft ATB Digital Card
