what other firewire interface compares to the MR8 equily or better for around the same price?

please no orpheus or ULN comments i cant afford them but i dont know if i want to go as cheap as a MR8 either.

does the 1640i or any other interface have better converters clocking and and pre's?

or maybe the saffire liquid 56?
