Ken Scott (Bowie) lecture in L.A. Dec. 14th

I don't think this has gone officially 'public' yet, but I recall our thread about Ken recently and figured those in the LA region would be interested. Hopefully, it will "travel" around too if this goes well...

>> Ken Scott (one of the most-accomplished engineer producers in pop) is premiering a live lecture he has planned for some time. He recorded/produced/mixed five of David Bowie's early 1970's albums, most notably Ziggy Stardust (although I prefer Hunky Dory). His talk will cover his work with Bowie, although is does venture briefly into his training at EMI Abbey Road. It will be multimedia - a talk, some rare music bits from behind the scenes, visual bits to show the studios and people involved.

His talk is the first of a short tour he may do; this is the trial run. It's a VERY small room (50 people total) for the hour lecture, then question and answer period, followed by a meet-and-greet, where he will chat and sign anything (relevant) you like. The room has 5.1 sound (Ken will play his recent mixes of some Bowie stuff in 5.1) and there are visual elements, etc. The date is Dec. 14th, 7:30 PM in Agoura Hills, which is slightly North of LA (just beyond San Fernando Valley on the 101N). Tickets will be $100 each, some refreshments will be provided.

You can bring things to get signed, which should make the admission price more worthwhile: Ken recorded much of the Magical Mystery Tour and The White Album for the Beatles, then went to Trident studios, where he did Elton's early albums, 5 records with Bowie etc. He recorded "All Things Must Pass", "Cold Turkey", the Jeff Beck Group, Procul Harum, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham's "Spectrum", The Scoffold, Supertramp's "Crime of the Century", DEVO, Missing Persons, The Tubes, Harry Nilsson, Level 42, many many more...

If you're interested, send an email to komosproductions@mac.com and they'll send you a paypal invoice to reserve a spot.
