Sebatron VMP4000e VS API,Vintech 4 channel

Looking at either the Sebatron ,Vintech or API 4 channel units. The Seb is alot cheaper...could it do a whole album? 4 mic drum kit, bass ,guit, vox in a rock/indie vein. Going direct to a LynxTwo/Cubase.

I own the 4 channel Sebatron and Vintech and an API a2d. I love the Seb. It's pretty much my go-to preamp for everything. The minimal EQ is awesome too.
Try them all out if you can. Pick your flavor.

Go for the Sebatron .
I think it is the best value out there and has a beautiful sound.
This clip has Sebatron on acoustic.

The Seb isn't "cheaper"... it is less expensive, there is a difference. In my experience with the Sebatron stuff it could easily do "a whole album" without a struggle.

Best of luck with your search.

Peace.

.
Yeah- gotta agree the seb does not sound cheap. Tracking to DAW, it is my go to pre for vocals/drums-sounds great on rooms/snare/kick etc.

Has a nice deep rich sound and the passive eq's are great- ie rooms for drums engage low cut and engage air etc etc.GJ

Yeah the Seb is pretty good all round. Great on OH. Me and a mate did a shoot out a couple of months ago with the Sebs, API 512, Avedis MA5, 512 clones, JLM BA and control 24 pre amps. The Seb was classy on everything, my mate didn't like vocals as much until we flicked the air switch. It was agreed that the 512, MA5, 512 clones and the Seb would sound great recording any thing in a rock mix. Seb for OH in particular.

PS Control 24 pres bottom of the barrel.

I think i am pretty much decided on the Sebatron 4000e. Seems like a great unit and the simplest option. I may have a Vintage Designs m581 for sale...
