What song would a Clown be singing on open mic night?

Though we could have some fun with this question that I brought up last night during a discussion out at the bar with friends. The subject got started with someone saying they were afraid of clowns.

Obvious choice -- Send in the clowns.
In that same vein anything by Justin Bieber would work. But I think a surly clown with a cigar, vodka martini, streaked greasepaint and a lounge tuxedo singing My Way would probably be most instructive for a gaggle of hopefuls gathered on Open Mic night.

Some "empowerment" song from Gloria Gaynor, like "I Am What I Am" or "I Will Survive".

"Free to Be Me" is another (not Gaynor though).

nah... changed my mind.

it would have more impact to challenge people's assumptions rather than cater to them.

i'm thinking something campy and theatrical with big smiles and jazz hands to set the expectation... like Sinatra's "high hopes" followed by something shocking and completely unrelated to crush the expectation... like nwa's "f##k the police"

A few "vintage" clown songs:

"Tears of a Clown," Smokey Robinson
"Everybody Loves a Clown," Gary Lewis and the Playboys
"Cathy's Clown," Everly Brothers
"Goodbye Cruel World," James Darrin
"Death of a Clown," Kinks
"Ha! Ha! Said the Clown," Yardbirds

Cheers,

Ideally, something that has nothing to do with clowns. In fact, another vote for "I Will Survive".
