Studio Engineer/Manager Position Open in Orange County, CA, USA

Greetings Gearslutz! I was reading the Engineering School debate thread with much interest and so I decided to post our job opening:

We have a Entry Level Studio Engineer/Manager Position open at our small commercial studio in Newport Beach, Orange County, CA. Our studio is a 1200 square foot Pro Tools HD2 recording studio specializing in music production. This is a full time with benefits paid position, 40+ hours a week, and variable hours allowed (depending on client requirements). No previous commercial studio experience is necessary, but strong Pro Tools skills are required. Windows XP knowledge is a plus.

A background check will be run and all references of the successful applicant will be verified. Valid California drivers’ license with current insurance is required. US Citizenship is mandatory.

The successful applicant will be a self starter, dependable, and be willing to learn. Since we are a small studio comprising of only the principals, the position will entail every aspect of studio management conceivable. Duties include engineering, recording, editing, maintenance, inventory, cleaning, sales, online sales, web design, myspace.com design and phone answering. You will work with us and our freelance engineers until you are ready to engineer your own sessions.

Pay is commensurate with experience, but the pay rate will be entry level. When you engineer your own sessions you will receive our freelance engineer rate.

Please send a basic resume and a summary of Pro Tools experience to write_room@yahoo.com.

Also, I will try to answer any public questions asked here.

Thanks!

Our entry level pay scale begins at $10.00 per hour and ends at $19.00 per hour. Note that this is not our freelance engineer rate, this is the 40 hour per week with benefits starting hourly wage, non-engineering, taking care of business rate. That translates to $400.00 to $760 per week or roughly $1600 to $3040 per month.

Thanks for the interest.
