Aphex 207 / FMR RNP / whatever???

Has anyone compared these two pres? How about the Studio Projects VTB-1? Specifically looking to expand my less than stellar pre collection (Buzz MA2.2, Trident 80b, TLA Valve Classics, CLM DB400s) but can't spend too much at the moment. So I guess the criteria is under £700 for a pair of channels, but must significantly better the pres on my Ghost console. Main anticipated use is for toms and bass. DI would also be handy for bass if it betters the one on the bass pod.

I'll eventually get a Phoenix or a Great River to pair up with the Buzz (which is the one outstanding pre I own), but I need something to tide me over just now that I might still get some use out of later. The Aphex looks interesting, but nobody seems to be using it!!

Any suggestions?
