Worth keeping a B16 for that "tape"sound?

Ive currently got my fostex b16 1/2" 16 track for sale but am just wondering whether it maybe worth keeping just to run mixes onto for the tape sound and compression or whether i am wasting my time? Does anyone think it is worth keeping or is it the general consensus that its not good a good enough machine.

thanks

Frankly, I'd drop it and see if I couldn't pick up and eight track 1/2" with your dough from that and use it for drums.

Many descriptions come to mind when I think of all small format analog decks from companies such as Fostex, Tascam, etc.

"That Tape Sound"

isn't one of them...

Bunnerrab's signature is

as cheap converters are to digital, so too are these to analog

unload the B16 on some enthusiastic newbie & find youself a pro format ( 1" 8 track or 1/2" 4 track ) if you really want "That Tape Sound"

I think it's a good idea to have a tape deck around for color as well as special FX(varispeed, reverse, etc)

I'd get rid of the Fostex and try and get a very small 8trk
