Dolby A Noise Reducer Cat22 360 361?

Hey everyone, I was let onto a little secret by a friend of mine to pick up some of the Dolby A Noise Reducers, specifically model a, 360. Rave reviews of old time greats yadda yadda. . .

So I searched Ebay and found a pair leaving Wally Heiders San Fran Studio. I didn't get the pair but I got one of them, but my friend mentioned the 360s not the 361s (which I got). . . so I got a pair of those as well.

Now. Can anyone explain the history of these bad boys, or what exactly they do? He told me how it sounds, but not exactly what it does, and when I google it I dont get the best description.

(Also looking for a damn power supply for one too! Obviously why I haven't been able to boot them up and figure it out myself, but Im too curious and impatient)

Any info would be awesome, thanks!
