Anyone use/used an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r

I am considering buying one today and would love some feedback.

I am on a Mac G5 with dual processors (non-intel) running Digital Performer but would like to have the ability ro run Pro Tools 8 soon. I currently use a Focusrite Saffire interface (the table top one, not rack mountable).

I have read a few reviews saying that the FTU 8r doesnt play too well with Macs - anyone have any insight on these units? How are they with latency using DAW plug-ins?

Is the rule - USB for a PC and Firewire for Mac?

Anything else would be appreciated. Thanks.
