Tascam 5 Series Mixer... Love it or Leave it?

so a year ago I bought one of these on an impulse buy (I do that a lot).

found one local, for a lot less than they go for on Ebay - so I thought - WTF - go for it.

Figured it could be a drum mic submixer, or use it for some analog summing lo-fi mojo, or use the funky pre's...

As yet, this monster is still in the wrap I got it delivered to me in...

What would you do with it?

Here's on on Ebay for $800, I'd let mine go for half that...

Well, I'd definitely try it out first, which is much more valuable than some random person's opinion on a forum. I imagine that those without imagination will say get rid of it, but I'd certainly try it out if it's useful for you.

But $800? It's worth like $150, $200 tops in mint condition. I just picked up a Yamaha RM800 24 channel 8 bus board for $350. Mixers like that are going for a song on Craigslist.
