What piece of gear am I?

Okay, I have insomnia and am bored so here's a little game: (come up with your own too, especially if you solve all of mine at once )

Gear number 1:

A. I can nuke something, and I'm the bomb. But those are only slightly related.
B. UA
C. I'm not a prime number but I'm really close.

Gear number 2:

A. Telly
B. There's another hint somewhere, plus or minus 40.

Gear number 3:

A. Why did you buy me?
B. Seriously what were you thinking?
C. Avatar, but not OP's
D. Seriously what were you thinking?

Gear number 4:

A. When the scientists found my namesake some decades ago, I helped with translation. Now I just translate well.
B. Perigree didn't sound as cool.

Number 1 and 3 are spot on.

For those guessing apogee, you need to be more specific, but you aren't wrong.
