Indeed that is tough.

It's a good list though, but some I have still to acquaint myself with. I think SRV has a place in a top tennish list across the board but you know everyone will have their own list and so it should be.

I can pare it down to two if I have to:

Steve Cropper

Eddie Hazel

If the list is longer it becomes REALLY difficult to stick to a limit.

I love much of Zappa - his music, not so his skits. But I never really got into his guitar playing.

I was keeping it to guys I've worked with... coulda thrown in Keef or Joe Perry [and a bunch of others you're probably heard of] but I thought that might be a bit pretentious.

We all know who the rest of them are.

Of course he's been on millions of records like say Bryan Ferry's 'The bride stripped bare' which is a recent discovery for me. I'm also not surprised that Keith Richards chose Waddy for his solo stuff because his rhythm playing is fantastic. I wonder how many songs that guy knows because he's been around forever and pretty much played with everybody.

It probably wouldnt shock anyone here if I said Im my own current favorite guitar player, would it?

'Tis not ego. I just kick ass

However, my top ten influences would probably be:

Eric Johnson
Wes Montgomery
Vai and Satriani
Ernest Ranglin
Junior Marvin
Django
Alex Lifeson
Ottmar Leibert
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Grant Green

I have to add an 11th - the two guitar players from Blind Melon ~ tasty!
