Lexicon PCM Native Starting Points

Just got it! definitely a huge step up in the software reverb world. could just be the best sounding software vrb i've used. really impressed so far.

for those that have it and have had it for a while (or a pcm96 for that matter) what are some of your favorite starting points before editing on different sources. favorites for vocals, ac guitars, drums, etc.

really looking forward to diving into this!

thanks!

wow - can't believe no responses to this...

I got it as well and am loving what I've used so far. The Halls are amazing...no set starting points so far, just grab one of the presets and tweak to taste...

I have a PCM96, and have played around with the plugin's a little bit, and I love them both. No set starting points, but I find myself going to the plates more and more.

1200 bucks for unlimited instances of lexi goodness is pretty cheap to me and the quality is a "big deal" and a huge leap especially in plugin land. i own almost every reverb plugin worth mentioning and these are by far my favorites. sometimes you've got to pay to play! thumbsup

I meant comparatively to other plugins. I never thought Id say this, but I think waves ir1 is better and way more configurable. I realize they are totally different beasts but ir sound better. I A/Bd the lex plugs with SIR and pcm 70 impulses and there was little difference. SIR is $200. For $1200 I am not impressed. But then again it does say Lexicon on it !

For rock drums, a short chamber absolutely kills it - 0.9 secs & under. Everything setting I use is individual to each each tracck, but I normally just have a plate, room, hall, chamber etc, on returns and send whatever to whatever.

Fairplay, but the way a pcm verb blends with the original signal is where the magic's at - I've come pretty close to being happy with convolution, but its never made the hair on the back on my neck stand on end, or given me goosebumps. Just my opinion of course, sir.

I had a question about these plugs too, asked twice and hopefully this is a better place to ask:

Do the new Lexicon plugins recreate Lexicons Panned Delays preset?
Here's more:
Recreating Lexicons Panned Delays preset in a VST plug?
