AKG D12/D12e - Differences?

Hi guys,

looking into buying one of these (2nd hand, obviously) and have seem them listed both as D12 and D12e.

Wondering what the differences are, if anything noticeable, and also if there's anything you reckon I should be on the look-out for. Like do the diaphragms tend to go etc.

Cheers,

R.

Seek and ye shall find... (Thanks Google)

Turns out one difference is one has the attached cable and another an XLR.

But please mention if there's anything else I should look out for when buying secondhand.

Cheers,

R.

The D12 usually had a brass frame seperating each side of the grill, the newer D12E had a plastic frame that usually breaks or is already broken and will piss you off for days on end. Find one that has the frame intact because you will NEVER find a replacement piece as AKG has not had any for a few years. I tend to be very carefull with mine so I don't break the plastic frame. Hope this bit of info helps.
