Thread Starter | Thoughts on TC Electronic G-System?...
Ok, forgive me if this isn't the appropriate forum for this question, but I'm trying to get unbiased info from people who's ears notice those subtle differences that most don't. Okay, here goes... So I'm looking at putting together a new guitar rig starting with an Egnater M4 modular, midi set up, but I'm torn as to if I should go the DMC GCX and ground control route with an effects unit/pedals or with something like the TC Electronics G-System. The big, red light that's making my stomach turn is that the TC unit is designed to plug the guitar directly into it where it gets an a/d/a conversion before the signal ever even hits the amp. I'm going to head out tomorrow and try to do some critical comparisons, but I'd love to hear from any of you with some input or experience with this unit. Can the converters be so good that the amp's tone wouldn't be sacrificed by the conversion? Anyway, I've read all the info at HC and just wanted to fish around here to see if any of you had some good insight on the G-system. thanks, Steve |

Check TheGearPage.net - do a search for g-system. The G-System has been discussed for months with a lot of practical live and (a little) studio use. The verdict so far has been extremely positive, and that's certainly a hard forum to please when it comes to "tone." I use an Egnater M4 also and I'm a month or so away from plunging into the G-system to use with the M4. |
